Abstract Submission
Deadline for receipt of abstracts:
Monday, April 28, 2008
All abstracts must be
submitted electronically via the abstract
submission website.
You are invited to submit abstracts for
either poster or platform presentation.
Abstracts should contain only new and
unpublished material, and should only be
submitted if at least one author plans to
attend the meeting and present the work in
either a poster or platform session. It is
the custom to have only one platform
presentation per lab, preferably from a
graduate student or postdoc and not from the
lab head.
Abstracts will appear on the web and in the
Program and Abstracts Volume exactly as
submitted, i.e., no corrections, additions,
revisions or deletions will be made by the
GSA staff. Revisions and corrections may be
made only by the author via the web abstract
submission program no later than the April 8
revision deadline. Please proof your text
carefully before submitting.
Because platform presentation requests far
exceed platform presentation slots, authors
should be prepared to present a poster if
their abstract is not selected for a
platform presentation.
To submit an abstract, follow the
instructions for web submission.
Submissions must be completed before
midnight on Monday, April 28, 2008, U.S. East
Coast time.
A confirmation will appear directly online
after a successful submission. Confirmation
of abstract receipt will include an abstract
control number, an author ID number for
future reference and text of the abstract
(for specifics, consult the web
instructions).
In early June, authors will be sent an
e-mail reminder to check the meeting website
for platform and poster assignments.

The Genetics Society of America is
sponsoring awards for student
posters that will be presented at
the meeting. The competition is open
to posters submitted by graduate
students who are the first and
presenting author. Authors must
indicate at the time of their
abstract submission that they want
to be considered for the
competition. The winners will be
announced in the general session on
Sunday, July 27. The following
prizes will be awarded: 1st place -
$400, 2nd place - $300, 3rd place -
$200, 4th place - $100, and 5
honorable mentions will receive
meeting t-shirts. |
Abstracts submitted for poster presentation
will be assigned to the session topic
indicated on the submission. Abstracts for
platform presentation will be reviewed and
selected by the program committee. The
abstracts submitted for platform
presentations that are not scheduled by the
program committee for a talk will be
assigned to the poster sessions.
Author Presentation Notification
Platform and poster notification assignments
will be posted at the Yeast Meeting web site
on Tuesday, June 10, 2008. In early June,
authors will be sent an e-mail reminder to
check the site for platform and poster
presentation assignments.
Abstract Search and Program
Planner
The Conference Abstract Search and Program
Planner, available at the GSA Yeast Meeting
website on June 23, 2008, enables the user
to search (by keyword, author and abstract
title), view and print all abstracts. The
program will also permit the user to select
abstracts of interest to create a
day-by-day, session-by-session personal
Conference itinerary. Please direct any
questions about this program to Krista
Koziol, GSA publications manager at
kkoziol@genetics-gsa.org.
